Min says food stock in Russia’s stores return to February level

MOSCOW, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- The inventories of storable food in Russia’s stores have returned to the level seen in February, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said at a government meeting on Tuesday.

“Sales of storable food including flour, sugar, vegetable oil, salt fell by 25% in the past week as compared with a pre-crisis week. This resulted in restoration of grocery retail chains’ stock, which has recovered to the mid-February level,” he said.

Reshetnikov also said that inflation continued to slow down to 0.66% in April 2–April 9 from 0.99% in the previous week.

The financial market and the labor market are stable, and the ruble’s exchange rate is fair, the minister also said.
